Jeffrey Epstein

Jeffrey Epstein was a wealthy financier who sexually abused dozens of girls, many of them fourteen or fifteen, at his homes in Palm Beach, New York and elsewhere, and who used his money and connections to escape serious punishment for years. His case became a symbol of how wealth and influence can shield abusers, and the women who came forward spent more than a decade forcing it back into public view.

He was born on January 20, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, at 6:15 a.m., the time on his birth record, and grew up in Coney Island. That hour gives him Capricorn rising, a sign associated with ambition, status and careful control of image. His Sun had entered Aquarius only hours before his birth and sits in the first house with Mercury, which is still in Capricorn.

Venus and Mars are together in Pisces in the second house, the area of money and possessions. Epstein's fortune and its sources have never been fully explained. He taught mathematics at the Dalton School in Manhattan in the 1970s without a college degree, moved to the investment bank Bear Stearns, and then founded his own firm, managing money for a handful of very rich clients, most prominently the retail billionaire Leslie Wexner.

He cultivated friendships with politicians, scientists, royalty and business leaders, and used private jets and island properties to entertain them. Saturn and Neptune sit together in Libra in the ninth house, an area associated with law and foreign places, and Pluto and Uranus are in the seventh, the house of partners and associates.

In 2005 the parents of a fourteen-year-old girl reported him to police in Palm Beach. Federal prosecutors identified dozens of victims, but in 2008 Epstein was allowed to plead guilty to state charges of soliciting prostitution, including from a minor, under a deal later widely condemned. He served about thirteen months, much of it on work release.

Reporting by the Miami Herald's Julie K. Brown in 2018 renewed attention to the case, and in July 2019 Epstein was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges. He died in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan on August 10, 2019, before trial; the medical examiner ruled it a suicide. His associate Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted of sex trafficking in 2021 and sentenced to twenty years in prison.

The Capricorn emphasis in his chart is often noted, but survivors such as Virginia Giuffre, who died in 2025, and the many women who testified are the people whose courage defines the story.
