Nikki Glaser

At the Netflix roast of Tom Brady in May 2024, Nikki Glaser stole the show. Her set, which mixed savage jokes about Brady's career and marriage with precise comic timing, became the most talked-about part of the evening, and within months she was announced as the host of the Golden Globes. In January 2025 she became the first woman to host the ceremony alone, and critics praised her performance.

She was born on June 1, 1984, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at 4:25 in the morning, a time recorded on her birth certificate, and grew up in the St. Louis suburbs. Her Sun is in Gemini, with Venus also in Gemini, both in the second house of self-worth and personal values. Gemini is the sign of words, wit and quick thinking, the classic sign of the comedian and writer. A Gemini Sun with Venus describes someone who finds pleasure and value in language, and Glaser is known for writing dense, precisely worded jokes.

Her Ascendant is in Taurus, and Mercury, also in Taurus, sits just below it in the first house. Taurus brings a calm, steady presence, and Mercury there gives a deliberate, grounded way of speaking. Glaser's delivery is often deadpan and unhurried, which makes her harshest lines land harder.

Mars and Saturn, both retrograde in Scorpio, fall in her seventh house, the house of one-on-one encounters and opponents. Mars and Saturn in Scorpio are sharp, cutting and unafraid of dark material, and in the seventh they describe someone who takes on others directly. Roasting, which is essentially a series of one-on-one attacks, is about as seventh-house as comedy gets, and Glaser became known as one of the best roasters in the business, at events honoring Rob Lowe, Alec Baldwin and Bruce Willis before Brady.

Her Moon is in early Cancer in the third house of communication. A Cancer Moon is sensitive and emotionally open, and in the third house those feelings come out in words. Glaser has been unusually candid in her stand-up and her podcast about depression, anxiety and her long struggle with eating disorders, talking about them with a mixture of humor and honesty.

She studied at the University of Kansas and began doing stand-up in her late teens. She co-hosted Nikki & Sara Live on MTV, hosted Not Safe with Nikki Glaser on Comedy Central and later hosted the dating show FBoy Island.

Jupiter, retrograde, and Neptune, both in Capricorn, fall in her ninth house of wider horizons and publishing. Uranus in Sagittarius lies in her eighth house, which concerns taboos and intimacy, and much of her material deals frankly with sex and relationships.

Her HBO specials and her reality series Welcome to Glaser expanded her audience, but it was the roast that changed her career. The Gemini Sun gave her the words; the Scorpio planets in the seventh house sharpened them into weapons.
