Josh Allen

Coming out of high school in Firebaugh, a farming town in California's Central Valley, Josh Allen did not receive a single scholarship offer from a major college program. He went to Reedley College, a junior college nearby, then drew offers from just two Division I programs and chose the University of Wyoming. Three years later the Buffalo Bills drafted him seventh overall, and in 2025 he was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player for the 2024 season.

He was born in Fresno on May 21, 1996, at 6:58 in the evening, the hour on his birth record, with Scorpio rising and the Sun just inside Gemini, placed in the seventh house, where partners and rivals are read. Gemini is quick, adaptable and improvisational, and it suits a quarterback known for extending plays, running when the pocket collapses and throwing from awkward angles. Venus, retrograde, is in Gemini too.

His Moon is in Cancer, the sign of family, home and loyalty, and Allen's story is unusually rooted in family. He grew up on his family's farm, and his grandparents were a constant presence. In 2018, during his rookie season, his grandmother died, and Bills fans began donating in her name to Oishei Children's Hospital in Buffalo, many in increments of $17 for his jersey number. The donations quickly passed a million dollars, and the bond between Allen and the city of Buffalo has been close ever since.

Mars is in Taurus, a sign of strength, stamina and physical power. Allen is famous for his arm and for his size, a quarterback built more like a tight end, who has repeatedly hurdled defenders. Astrologers would read a Taurus Mars as force that is steady and hard to stop, a fair description of his running style.

Saturn is in Aries, the sign of the pioneer, and Saturn there often describes someone who has to earn every opportunity through persistence. Allen arrived in the NFL as an accurate-passing question mark, completing a low percentage of his throws in college, and he spent his first seasons in Buffalo working on his mechanics until he became one of the league's most complete quarterbacks.

Jupiter, retrograde in Capricorn, adds patience and a long view, the sense that success is built rather than given. That was true of the path from Reedley to Wyoming to Buffalo, and of a franchise whose fans had waited a long time for a quarterback like him.

In 2025 he married the actress Hailee Steinfeld. The Gemini Sun gave him the improvisation; the Cancer Moon kept him close to the people, and the town, that took a chance on him.
