Elton John

Bernie Taupin's lyrics would arrive, and Elton John would often finish the melody in the time it took tea to brew — one of the fastest, most productive songwriting partnerships in popular music history. The Sun sits in Aries, in the 3rd house of immediate creative expression, and Aries doesn't sit with an idea. It moves fast, urgent, wanting a finished piece on the piano before the day ends.

John was born March 25, 1947, at 2:00 in the morning in Pinner, Middlesex, England, Sagittarius at the Ascendant, Libra ruling the Midheaven. The Moon sits in Taurus, in the 4th house of home, and needs a private base that's genuinely comfortable to feel emotionally settled — Taurus makes that base sensory and expensive, which tracks against a lifelong, well documented obsession with collecting art, photography, and glassware, needing the physical surroundings to actually feel right.

Sagittarius rises at the horizon, supplying the theatrical showman the public actually saw: towering costumes, oversized sunglasses, a level of spectacle that startled even other musicians. A Sagittarius Ascendant doesn't shrink from a stage. It wants the largest possible version of the moment available.

Pluto conjuncts Saturn in Leo, occupying the house governing transformation and pooled resources, and that pairing is built for exactly the boom and bust cycles he's actually lived through — massive royalties, near bankruptcy, addiction, recovery, and a patient rebuilding of both fortune and reputation across his later decades, documented candidly across two memoirs. Placements in that house tend to involve public reckonings with money and power, and his has included nearly all of it, on the record.

Mercury sits in Pisces, in the 2nd house of personal value, making financial decisions through feeling rather than a spreadsheet, which explains a fair amount of how his finances have actually unfolded over the decades. Venus sits in Aquarius, in that same house, giving the underlying values their genuinely unconventional shape: a man who could have stayed closeted and didn't, and who began giving vast sums to AIDS research and services in 1992, years before most of the industry was willing to acknowledge the crisis publicly at all.

Jupiter sits in Scorpio, in the 11th house of friendship, describing a small circle of genuinely intense bonds rather than a wide casual network — Princess Diana, Bernie Taupin, Eminem among them. Scorpio's 11th house doesn't do friendship lightly. Every one of them reads as a real attachment.
