Ashley Tisdale

Ashley Tisdale was three years old when a manager spotted her at a New Jersey shopping mall and signed her. By eight she was performing in a touring production of Les Misérables, and by twenty she was Sharpay Evans, the glittering, scheming drama queen of High School Musical. Sharpay was supposed to be the villain, but audiences loved her, and in 2011 she got her own film, Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure.

She was born on July 2, 1985, in Neptune, New Jersey, at 2:10 in the morning according to her birth record. That puts Taurus on the Ascendant and her Sun in the third house, which astrologers link with brothers, sisters and the streets you grew up on. Her Sun is in Cancer, with Mars also in Cancer and also in the third. Cancer cares about kin, nurture and emotional safety, and Mars in Cancer channels drive into protecting home and loved ones. Tisdale has long been close to her family, including her sister Jennifer, also an actress, and in recent years she has built her public identity around motherhood and wellness.

Her Moon is in Capricorn, the sign of discipline, ambition and practical achievement. A Capricorn Moon finds security in work and accomplishment. Tisdale began working before she started school, and she has kept working steadily ever since: as an actress, a singer, a voice actor, a producer and a businesswoman.

Mercury in Leo gives a dramatic, expressive voice. Tisdale played Maddie Fitzpatrick on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and voiced Candace Flynn, the frustrated older sister forever trying to get her brothers in trouble, on the animated series Phineas and Ferb for many years. Leo also loves the spotlight, and Sharpay, the role that made her famous, was pure theatrical Leo.

Venus, ruler of her chart, sits in Taurus in the first house, close to the Ascendant, a placement that puts beauty, comfort and sensory pleasure right on the surface of the personality. Taurus Venus enjoys well-made things, and Tisdale launched a lifestyle and wellness brand, Frenshe, built around home, self-care and comfort.

In 2007 she released her debut album, Headstrong, which reached the top five of the Billboard 200. Jupiter, retrograde in Aquarius, sits high in her chart, in the tenth house, where vocation and reputation are read, describing growth that comes from independent ventures and unusual paths. Tisdale has moved between music, television, producing and business, often on her own terms.

Saturn, retrograde in Scorpio, sits across from her Venus in the seventh, the marriage house, and points to private struggles worked through slowly. Tisdale has spoken openly about anxiety and about her health, including her decision to have her breast implants removed after experiencing problems she attributed to them.

In 2014 she married the musician Christopher French, and they have two daughters, Jupiter, born in 2021, and Emerson, born in 2024. The Cancer Sun now shows itself most clearly in that role. Sharpay may have been the star of the show, but the woman who played her has always been happiest at home.
