Dua Lipa

At fifteen, Dua Lipa moved back to London on her own. Her parents, Kosovo Albanians who had settled in London in the early 1990s, had returned to Pristina when she was eleven, and she had grown up partly there. But she wanted a music career, and she believed London was where it would happen. She lived with a family friend, went to school and took part-time jobs while she worked on her singing.

That combination of roots and restlessness runs through her chart. She was born at 12:18 a.m. on August 22, 1995, in London, a time she has confirmed herself, and her Sun sits at the end of Leo in the fourth house, with Venus just beside it at the final degree of the sign. Leo is the sign of performance, warmth and wanting to shine; the fourth house is the area of the chart that astrologers associate with home, family and heritage.
