Caitlin Clark

On March 3, 2024, Caitlin Clark passed Pete Maravich to become the leading scorer in the history of NCAA Division I basketball, men's or women's. She finished her college career at the University of Iowa with 3,951 points, having transformed women's college basketball into a television phenomenon. Her deep three-pointers, launched from near the midcourt logo, became her signature and drew record audiences.

She was born on January 22, 2002, in Des Moines, Iowa, and grew up in West Des Moines. Nobody has published the hour she was born, so her Ascendant cannot be cast, but her planets fit her career closely. Her Sun is in early Aquarius, with Mercury, retrograde, Venus and Neptune also in Aquarius. Aquarius is the sign of innovation, crowds and changing the rules. A strong Aquarius emphasis describes someone who reshapes what people expect, and Clark changed the way women's basketball was watched and played, extending the shooting range of the game and drawing new audiences to arenas.

Mars at the very start of Aries describes fierce competitive energy and an impulse to attack. Aries is the sign of the competitor, and Clark is known for her intensity, her willingness to take difficult shots and her trash talk, as well as occasional technical fouls.

Her Moon is in Taurus, describing emotional steadiness and a grounded, loyal nature. Clark has stayed close to her family and her Iowa roots, and she chose to play college basketball in her home state.

At Iowa, she led the Hawkeyes to consecutive national championship games in 2023 and 2024, losing to LSU and South Carolina, and she won the Naismith Award as the nation's best player both years. Her rivalry with LSU's Angel Reese, which began in the 2023 final, became one of the most discussed storylines in sports.

Saturn, retrograde in Gemini, suggests that her public voice comes with pressure. As her fame grew, Clark found herself at the center of heated debates about race, media coverage and women's sports, and she spoke carefully about her role in them.

Jupiter, retrograde in Cancer, describes growth through home and family, and Uranus in Aquarius adds sudden, disruptive breakthroughs. The Indiana Fever chose her first overall in the 2024 WNBA draft. As a rookie she set a league record for assists in a season, was named Rookie of the Year and helped bring record attendance and viewership to the league. Time named her its Athlete of the Year for 2024. Injuries limited her second season in 2025.

Pluto in Sagittarius adds intensity to her drive. The Aquarius planets made her an innovator who changed her sport; the Aries Mars gave her the nerve to shoot from the logo.
