Rachel Brosnahan

Before she became Miriam "Midge" Maisel, the 1950s housewife who discovers she is a natural stand-up comic, Rachel Brosnahan was best known for playing a doomed sex worker on House of Cards. She was relatively unknown when Amy Sherman-Palladino cast her as the lead of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and the role, with its pages of rapid-fire dialogue, turned her into a star. She won an Emmy and two Golden Globes for it.

She was born at 3:22 in the afternoon on July 12, 1990, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a time from her birth certificate, and grew up in Highland Park, a suburb of Chicago.
