Glen Powell

Glen Powell auditioned for the role of Rooster in Top Gun: Maverick and lost it to Miles Teller. Tom Cruise then encouraged him to take a different part, the cocky pilot Jake "Hangman" Seresin, and Powell turned the role into a scene-stealing performance. The film became one of the biggest hits of the decade, and within two years Powell was one of Hollywood's busiest leading men.

He was born on October 21, 1988, in Austin, Texas. Because his birth hour has not been released, his Ascendant cannot be placed, but his planets are telling. His Sun is in late Libra, a placement of charm, grace and romance. Libra wants to please and to connect, and Powell's screen persona, handsome, self-assured and good-humored, suits the romantic comedies that made him a star. In 2023 he co-starred with Sydney Sweeney in Anyone But You, which became an unexpected box-office hit.

Mercury in Libra describes a witty, diplomatic mind, and Venus in Virgo adds craft and a careful attention to detail. Powell is also a writer: he co-wrote Hit Man, a 2023 comedy he made with the director Richard Linklater, in which he played a philosophy professor who poses as a contract killer for the police. The performance earned him a Golden Globe nomination.

His Moon is in Pisces, describing an imaginative, empathetic emotional life. Pisces absorbs and transforms, and Powell has said he enjoys disappearing into characters very different from himself, as he did in Hit Man, where his character takes on a series of disguises.

Mars, retrograde on the cusp of Aries, describes drive that has to be rebuilt from within, and Powell's career took years to build. He worked as an extra in Spy Kids 3-D as a teenager and spent years in supporting roles, playing the astronaut John Glenn in Hidden Figures and a charismatic college baseball player in Linklater's Everybody Wants Some!!

Saturn and Uranus, together in late Sagittarius, along with Neptune in Capricorn, belong to his generation and suit an actor whose rise came suddenly after a long apprenticeship. Jupiter, retrograde in Gemini, adds versatility, and Powell moved easily from comedy to action, starring in the storm-chasing film Twisters in 2024 and in Edgar Wright's The Running Man in 2025.

Pluto in Scorpio adds intensity to his ambition. Directors who have worked with him describe an actor who arrives prepared and thinks like a producer, and he has increasingly developed his own projects rather than waiting for offers. He has also spoken about the value of the years he spent in small roles, watching how more experienced actors worked. Powell has kept close ties to Texas, moving back to Austin and returning to the University of Texas to finish his degree. The Libra Sun gave him the charm of a classic leading man; the Pisces Moon gave him the imagination to keep surprising audiences.
