The murderer who wrote to the newspapers during his spree was always going to be a Gemini 10th house chart.

Sun at 11° Gemini in the 10th house identifies through communication and the public role. The 10th house puts identity into the position one occupies in the social structure. Berkowitz cycled through three layers of communicated identity in the years before he was caught... the army postal clerk, the urban civilian mail clerk, and then the anonymous letter writer signing himself "Son of Sam." Venus at 27° Aries in the 9th house is relating in cardinal fire, in the higher meaning sector. Aries Venus relates through direct pursuit and impulse; the 9th house places that into belief and conviction. Berkowitz's relationship history was thin. The Aries 9th house Venus pursued ideological structures more than human ones. The 1987 prison conversion to born again Christianity, the years of correspondence with prison ministry figures since, all integrate through 9th house Aries Venus doing the pursuit of belief work that was always more accessible than the pursuit of intimacy.

Saturn at 21° Libra retrograde in the 2nd house, conjunct Neptune at 21° Libra retrograde. The Saturn Neptune conjunction is the generational marker for the early 1950s cohort... structural ideal dissolution. In the 2nd house specifically, the placement activates around values, money, possessions, the felt sense of what is one's own. Berkowitz's values structure was dissolved by an ideal of belonging that never came through. The discovery at age 22 that he was adopted and illegitimate ran directly through this placement. The 2nd house Saturn Neptune said the foundational sense of belonging would dissolve under examination, and it did.

Uranus at 17° Cancer in the 11th house disrupts the friendship and social belonging sector. Cancer Uranus produces unusual emotional connection patterns; in the 11th house the disruption shows up in the social fabric directly. Berkowitz's documented difficulty making friendships, the years of social isolation in the Yonkers apartment, the absence of meaningful peer relationships during the spree, all run through 11th house Uranus.

Pluto at 21° Leo in the 12th house is the unconscious transformative power in fire. Generationally the 1947 to 1956 cohort carries Leo Pluto, but the 12th house placement specifically activates it in the hidden and unconscious sector... the placement that runs through prisons and asylums and material that escapes daylight. The dark unconscious force that Berkowitz expressed through the killings ran through 12th house Leo Pluto. The Leo element added the dramatized self conception (the literary persona, the carefully constructed Son of Sam mythology); the 12th house kept the real material hidden until it broke through.

Chiron at 20° Capricorn retrograde in the 5th house alongside the North Node at 4° Aquarius. The wound in structure of creativity, with soul direction pointing toward Aquarius detachment within the 5th house. The chart was supposed to integrate creative self expression with structural discipline. It didn't. The expression broke through unrestrained.

Here is what the chart shows. The four planet Gemini stellium in the 10th house is what decided this chart. Communication as career at maximum concentration, weaponized through Mars, expanded through Jupiter, identified with through the Sun. The killings were one half of the project; the writing was the other half. Berkowitz was arrested August 10, 1977 outside his Yonkers apartment after a parking ticket gave him away. He was sentenced to 365 years and remains at Shawangunk Correctional Facility, where he became a born again Christian in 1987. The chart's Gemini 10th house continues to do its work through prison correspondence and prison ministry writing. The writing didn't stop when the killings did.
