Aaron Rodgers

At the 2005 NFL draft, Aaron Rodgers sat in the green room as team after team passed on him. He had expected to go first overall to San Francisco, near where he grew up. Instead the cameras lingered on him for hours until the Green Bay Packers took him with the 24th pick. He spent the next three seasons as Brett Favre's backup, and the slight became part of his story.

Rodgers had been overlooked before. Coming out of high school in Chico, California, he received no Division I scholarship offers, so he went to Butte, a junior college, before transferring to the University of California.
