Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry was born in Akron, Ohio, in the same hospital as LeBron James, a coincidence that has become part of basketball lore. Curry grew up mostly in Charlotte, where his father, Dell Curry, was one of the NBA's best shooters for the Hornets. Despite that pedigree, major college programs passed on the slender guard, and he went to Davidson College, a small school in North Carolina.

He was born at 1:51 p.m. on March 14, 1988, according to his birth certificate. His Sun is in Pisces in the ninth house. Pisces is fluid, intuitive and imaginative, and the ninth governs wide horizons and a sense of reaching beyond the expected. As a basketball style, Pisces describes something hard to pin down, and Curry's game has a quality of flow and improvisation that changed how the sport is played: shots from distances once thought reckless, released in a blur.

What looks effortless rests on routine. Mars and Saturn both sit in Capricorn in his sixth house, where daily work and practice live. Capricorn is disciplined and patient, and Mars and Saturn together there describe relentless, structured effort. Curry's pregame shooting routine became a spectacle in its own right, with fans arriving early to watch him run through the same exacting drills night after night.

At Davidson he led a small program on a surprising run to the regional final of the 2008 NCAA tournament. The Golden State Warriors drafted him seventh overall in 2009, and early ankle injuries raised doubts about his durability. He answered them. He won the league's MVP award in 2015 and again in 2016, the second time unanimously, the first player ever to do so. With the Warriors he won championships in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022, and in December 2021 he passed Ray Allen to become the NBA's career leader in three-pointers.

Leo is on his Ascendant, a sign of showmanship and joy in performance. The shimmy after a big shot, the celebrations directed at opposing crowds and the grin as a long three falls through are pure Leo: the delight of being watched doing something well.

His Moon is in Aquarius in the seventh house of partnership. Aquarius is independent and unconventional, and in the seventh it describes relationships with an equal, friendly footing. He met Ayesha Curry as a teenager at church in Charlotte, and they married in 2011; the couple have built several businesses and a foundation together.

In 2024, at the Paris Olympics, he scored four three-pointers in the closing minutes of the gold-medal game against France to secure the victory for the United States. It was the most Pisces of performances: a flow of shots that seemed to arrive from nowhere, built on twenty years of Capricorn practice.
