Phoebe Dynevor

In December 2020, Netflix released Bridgerton, a lavish Regency romance produced by Shonda Rhimes, and within a month it had become one of the most-watched series in the service's history. At its center was Daphne Bridgerton, the eldest Bridgerton daughter, whose romance with the Duke of Hastings drove the first season. The role turned Phoebe Dynevor, a British actress who had been working in television since childhood, into an international star.

She was born on April 17, 1995, in Manchester, England. Her birth time has not been published, so the Ascendant and houses of her chart remain unknown, but her planets are distinctive. Her Sun is in late Aries, the sign of courage, independence and directness. Aries likes to lead and to act decisively, and Dynevor has said she is drawn to strong-willed characters, women who take control of their own stories.

Venus is in Pisces, where it is traditionally considered at its most romantic, idealistic and tender. Venus in Pisces describes a love of romance in its most dreamlike form, an apt placement for the face of Bridgerton, a show built on grand romantic gestures, ballgowns and swooning love.

Saturn is also in Pisces, adding seriousness and discipline to creative and emotional life. Dynevor has spoken about the hard work and preparation behind the romantic scenes, and about wanting to be taken seriously beyond period drama.

She grew up in an acting family. Her mother, Sally Dynevor, has played Sally Webster on the British soap opera Coronation Street for decades, and her father, Tim Firth, is a playwright and screenwriter whose work includes Calendar Girls. Phoebe began acting as a teenager, with a role on the BBC school drama Waterloo Road, and worked in British television for years before Bridgerton.

Mars in Leo brings warmth, confidence and theatrical energy. Leo loves the stage and wants its work to be seen, and after Bridgerton, Dynevor chose roles that showed different sides of her, including the 2023 thriller Fair Play, in which she played a finance analyst whose relationship collapses under professional rivalry. The film was a hit at the Sundance Film Festival, where Netflix bought it after a bidding war. She has also starred in the thriller Inheritance and spoken about choosing projects that unsettle audiences' expectations of her. Away from the screen, she has kept her personal life relatively private despite intense interest from Bridgerton fans.

Jupiter in Sagittarius, retrograde, describes growth through travel and new experiences. Uranus, newly in Aquarius, and Neptune in Capricorn belong to her generation but suit an actress who has moved from British soap-opera royalty to Hollywood thrillers.

The Aries Sun gave her the drive to take the lead; the Pisces Venus made her the perfect romantic heroine.
