Jensen Huang

In 1993, Jensen Huang, Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem met at a Denny's restaurant in San Jose, California, and decided to start a company to make chips for computer graphics. They called it Nvidia. Huang had once worked at Denny's as a teenager, washing dishes and waiting tables. Thirty-two years later, in July 2025, Nvidia became the first company in history to be valued at four trillion dollars, driven by demand for its chips in artificial intelligence.

He was born on February 17, 1963, in Tainan, Taiwan. His birth time is not known publicly, so his Ascendant cannot be determined, but his planets are revealing. His Sun is in late Aquarius, with Saturn also in Aquarius and Mercury at the start of the sign. Aquarius is the sign of technology, innovation and the future. Saturn there describes disciplined, long-term work on new ideas. Few charts could be more fitting for the founder of a company that spent decades building technology that later turned out to be the foundation of the AI revolution.

His childhood involved upheaval. His family moved to Thailand, and at nine he and his brother were sent to the United States to live with relatives and attend Oneida Baptist Institute in Kentucky, a boarding school where, he has said, he cleaned bathrooms. He later attended high school in Oregon, studied electrical engineering at Oregon State University, where he met his wife, Lori, and earned a master's degree at Stanford.

Jupiter in Pisces describes vision and an ability to imagine possibilities others do not see. Venus in Capricorn adds a practical, business-minded side.

Mars, retrograde in Leo, describes a powerful, theatrical drive that works from within. Leo loves the stage, and Huang has become famous for his keynote presentations, delivered in his trademark black leather jacket, which have become major events in the technology world.

Uranus and Pluto, both retrograde in Virgo, are generational placements that fit an engineer whose company is defined by precise technical innovation. Nvidia introduced what it called the first GPU, the GeForce 256, in 1999, and in 2006 it released CUDA, a platform that allowed its graphics chips to be used for general computing. When researchers discovered that GPUs were ideal for training neural networks, Nvidia became the essential supplier of the AI boom.

Neptune in Scorpio adds a feeling for hidden potential. Huang has led Nvidia as chief executive since its founding, one of the longest tenures of any major technology founder, and he has a tattoo of the company's logo. The Aquarius Sun made him a builder of the future; the Saturn beside it gave him the patience to wait thirty years for the future to arrive.
