Jenna Ortega

The dance went viral before the show had even finished streaming. In Netflix's Wednesday, released in November 2022, Jenna Ortega's Wednesday Addams performs a stiff, jerky, deadpan routine at a school dance, and Ortega choreographed it herself, drawing on old footage of goth club dancers and silent film stars. Within weeks millions of people were recreating it, and Ortega, who had been acting since childhood, was suddenly one of the most famous young actresses anywhere.

She was born on September 27, 2002, in the Coachella Valley of Southern California, at 5:59 in the evening, a time from her birth record. She is of Mexican and Puerto Rican descent, the fourth of six children. Her Sun is in Libra, with Mercury, retrograde, also in Libra, both in the seventh house, which governs other people, partnerships and the public. Libra is the sign of grace and balance, and a seventh-house Sun describes someone whose identity develops through collaboration and through how others respond to her.

Venus in Scorpio sits in her eighth house, which deals with death, taboo and the darker side of life. Venus there is drawn to intensity and to the macabre, and Ortega has become a modern horror heroine. She starred in two Scream films, in Ti West's X and as the morbid Wednesday, and in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in 2024.

Pisces is her rising sign, which gives a dreamy, sensitive, chameleon-like presence. Pisces actors often seem to disappear into roles, and Ortega has moved easily from comedy to horror to drama.

Her Moon is in Gemini in the third house of communication and early learning. A Gemini Moon is quick and curious, and she began acting at nine, after begging her parents to let her audition. Early roles included the young version of the title character on Jane the Virgin and a lead on the Disney Channel series Stuck in the Middle.

Mars in Virgo, in her sixth house of daily work, describes a meticulous work ethic. Ortega is known for intense preparation, from learning the cello for Wednesday to studying fencing, and for pushing back on scripts when something feels wrong for her character.

Jupiter in Leo falls in her fifth house of performance and creativity, describing generous creative opportunities. Saturn at the very end of Gemini lies in her fourth house of home, suggesting early responsibility; she has said she grew up quickly in a busy household and a demanding industry.

Uranus and Neptune fall in her eleventh and twelfth houses, describing a large, devoted online following and a private inner life she guards closely. Wednesday earned her Golden Globe and Emmy nominations, and the series returned for a second season in 2025. The Libra Sun in her seventh house made her a natural collaborator; the Scorpio Venus pulled her toward the dark.
