A$AP Rocky

A$AP Rocky grew up in Harlem in hard circumstances. His father was sent to prison for drug dealing when Rakim Mayers was a boy, and when he was thirteen his older brother, Ian, was shot and killed in Harlem. For a time he and his mother lived in homeless shelters. He has said that music and fashion became his way of building a different life, and the crew he joined as a teenager, the A$AP Mob, became a kind of family.

He was born Rakim Athelaston Mayers on October 3, 1988, in Harlem, New York. He has not shared the hour of his birth, so his Ascendant is unknown, but his planets describe him strikingly well. Libra holds both his Sun and a retrograde Mercury, and Libra prizes beauty, style and aesthetic refinement. A Libra Sun describes someone with an acute eye for appearance and design, and Rocky became as famous for fashion as for music, working with luxury houses and in 2025 serving as a co-chair of the Met Gala.

His Moon falls in Cancer, which longs for a secure home and loyal kin. A Cancer Moon needs a secure base, and it describes someone shaped by the loss and instability of childhood and devoted to building a family of his own. Rocky and the singer Rihanna have two sons, RZA and Riot, born in 2022 and 2023, and he has spoken often about how fatherhood changed him.

Mars, retrograde in Aries, describes fierce energy that can turn inward or erupt unexpectedly. Rocky's career has included legal troubles: in 2019 he was convicted of assault in Sweden after a street fight and received a suspended sentence, and in 2025 a Los Angeles jury acquitted him of charges that he had fired a gun at a former friend.

Jupiter in Gemini, retrograde, describes success through variety and versatility. His 2011 mixtape, Live. Love. A$AP, made him a star, and his 2013 debut album, Long. Live. A$AP, went to No. 1. His music blends New York rap with the slowed, hazy sound of Houston, reflecting a curiosity about many styles.

Saturn and Uranus, together in late Sagittarius, along with Neptune in Capricorn, belong to his generation and describe a restless desire to break boundaries. Pluto in Scorpio adds intensity and an attraction to transformation.

He has also acted, appearing in Spike Lee's Highest 2 Lowest in 2025, and he has worked as a creative director in fashion and design.

The Libra Sun gave him the eye; the Cancer Moon gave him a hunger for the family and security his childhood lacked.
